Aerodryve Hybrid Belt Dryer

Aerodryve is GEM Drytech's hybrid belt dryer, combining conveyor belt drying with fluidisation of the product bed. It is designed for very wet or bulky feeds such as biomass, forage crops, bagasse and wet agro or food residues, where a plain belt dryer would need a very long or deep bed to reach the evaporation required. Buyers consider it when they need high water removal with the steady handling of a belt.

Quick answer

The Aerodryve Hybrid Belt Dryer is a belt & conveyor machine from GEM. Very wet or bulky feeds needing high evaporation: biomass, bagasse, alfalfa, Napier grass, green fodder, agro waste and fruit and vegetable residues. It is the recommended dryer for 5 materials and an alternative for 16 more.

Principle

How the Hybrid Belt + Fluid Bed Dryer works

Wet material is carried on a belt while heated air is driven up through the bed with enough velocity to loosen and partly fluidise it. Loosened particles expose more surface to the air and the bed stays open instead of compacting, so moisture leaves faster than from a static bed. Humid air is exhausted and the product continues along the belt to discharge.

  1. Bulky wet feed is spread on the belt at the inlet
  2. Upward hot air loosens and partly fluidises the bed
  3. Agitated particles release moisture as fresh surfaces meet the air
  4. Belt carries the drying product steadily toward discharge
  5. Humid air is exhausted and dry product is discharged
Features

Hybrid Belt + Fluid Bed Dryer features

Belt plus fluidisation

Combines the controlled residence time of a conveyor belt with the intense air contact of a fluidised bed in one continuous machine.

Built for high evaporation

Intended for feeds carrying large amounts of water, where removing that water efficiently is the main design challenge of the drying line.

Handles bulky feeds

Suited to fibrous, light and voluminous materials such as forage, grasses and biomass that pack down or bridge on a static bed.

Open, loosened bed

Upward air flow lifts and loosens the bed so it does not compact, helping keep drying even through the whole layer.

Continuous operation

Feed and discharge run continuously, so the dryer fits into chopping, pressing, pelleting or baling lines without batch handling.

Engineered per duty

Each unit is engineered for the specific feed, with sizing based on material tests and heat-load calculations rather than a standard catalogue model.

FAQ

Hybrid Belt + Fluid Bed Dryer: questions buyers ask

How is Aerodryve different from a standard belt dryer?
A standard belt dryer passes air through a static bed. Aerodryve drives air through the bed hard enough to loosen and partly fluidise it, so bulky or very wet material stays open and exposes more surface. This targets higher evaporation for feeds that would otherwise need a very long belt.
Which materials suit the Aerodryve hybrid dryer?
It is aimed at very wet or bulky feeds such as bagasse, agro waste, alfalfa, Napier grass, green fodder maize and fruit and vegetable waste. It is also considered as an alternative for digestate, wood chips, straw and palm fibre when the evaporation load is high.
Are there standard Aerodryve specifications?
Aerodryve is engineered for each project rather than sold from a fixed catalogue, so capacity, belt area and air temperatures depend on the feed and its moisture. GEM sizes it from heat-load calculations and material testing, and can quote once your feed data or a trial result is available.

Send us a sample. See it dried.

We trial your material in our pilot facility before any equipment decision, then size the dryer from real data.

  1. Tell us the material, moisture and throughput.
  2. An engineer confirms the trial plan and sample shipping.
  3. You get drying data and a sized recommendation with a budget quotation.
