GEM DRYTECH · INDUSTRIAL BELT DRYING

Assess whether belt drying fits the separated solids from your anaerobic digestion process. Gem Drytech Systems LLP offers industrial drying equipment and pilot trials to support material evaluation and project planning.

Start with the separated digestate

Digestate composition varies with the feedstock and digestion process. Share the separation method, dry-solids content, consistency and intended destination of the dried material. The solid fraction should be evaluated before a dryer configuration is proposed.

How a belt drying concept is evaluated

A belt carries an evenly distributed layer through heated airflow. Feed preparation, bed permeability, residence time and heat availability influence the drying duty. Sticky or variable material may require a different handling approach or further preparation.

Assess available site heat

If your project has recoverable heat, provide its medium, temperature, flow and operating availability. These details are needed to assess whether it can support the required moisture removal. Compatibility with a particular heat source cannot be assumed.

Plan the full process

Define storage, feeding, exhaust and odour management, cleaning and discharge arrangements alongside the dryer. The intended use of dried digestate and local requirements must be assessed by the project team; drying alone does not establish a compliant fertiliser product.

Pilot evaluation before final sizing

A representative sample and process data help assess handling and drying behaviour. Ask Gem Drytech about pilot trials and the information required for a feasibility proposal. Equipment selection and performance expectations should follow the material assessment.

Your material. Your process.

These are examples of applications, not a complete list. For other materials, see our mesh belt dryer, band dryer and full dryer range, or discuss your requirement with us.

Frequently asked questions

Can liquid digestate go directly onto a belt dryer?

A belt-drying proposal generally starts by assessing a suitable solid fraction and its handling properties. Share the separation process and solids content so the required preparation can be reviewed.

Can heat from a biogas project be used?

Potential use depends on the heat medium, temperature, flow, availability and required drying duty. Provide those details for an engineering assessment.

What information is needed to start?

Send the feedstock source, separation method, wet solids throughput, inlet and target moisture, available heat details, operating hours, installation country and intended use.

Request a process proposal

In your message, include your material, wet throughput, inlet and target moisture, available heat source, installation country and project timing. Please state whether moisture figures are on a wet or dry basis.
