Where moisture becomes a product, energy or plant-safety problem.

Russian facilities often handle variable agricultural feedstock, abrasive mineral solids, combustible dust, energy constraints and existing utilities. Engineering must also address relevant EAEU technical regulations and Russian site-safety requirements.

EAEU / Russia Requirements

Machinery, low-voltage, EMC, pressure-equipment, industrial-safety and emissions requirements should be reviewed before final equipment design.

Machinery, low-voltage, EMC, pressure-equipment, industrial-safety and emissions requirements should be reviewed before final equipment design.

Drying objective:Define EAC conformity routes, Russian documentation and site interfaces before delivery.

Prove the drying basis before committing to the machine.

01

Dried & Tested pilot validation

Representative material can be tested to establish drying behaviour, final moisture, residence time and a scale-up basis before final equipment selection.

02

Material-first dryer selection

Band, paddle, rotary, fluid-bed and tray dryers are selected according to the actual material, not a fixed machine preference.

03

Energy-conscious process design

Heat input, airflow, recirculation and residence time are determined around evaporation load and site utilities.

04

Continuous industrial throughput

Continuous processing can reduce batch bottlenecks while supporting consistent product moisture.

05

Integration with Russian plant utilities

Feeding, conveying, hot air, steam, exhaust, controls, dust collection, cleaning and downstream equipment can be evaluated together.

06

Russian / EAEU conformity planning

The applicable TR CU / TR EAEU regulations, EAC conformity route, Russian-language documents and site safety obligations can be identified during engineering.

From moisture problem to a validated drying design.

Before fixing machine size and commercial scope, we determine the evaporation duty, material behaviour, target product, utility availability and applicable Russian/EAEU technical and plant-safety requirements.

Industrial dryer questions Russian plants ask before they buy.

Technical, operational, safety, EAEU conformity, emissions and commercial topics to evaluate when planning industrial drying equipment for Russia.

Which Russian industries can use GEM Drytech industrial drying systems?

Applications include grain, oilseed, sugar beet, food, dairy, meat and fish processing, brewing, feed, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, fertilizers, pulp and paper, wood, biomass, coal, minerals, metallurgy, sludge and recycling. Dryer type depends on the material.

Can you test our wet material before quoting a production dryer?

Yes. Dried & Tested pilot trials can help validate drying behaviour, final moisture, temperature limits and practical process parameters before equipment sizing.

What is the main EAEU machinery safety regulation for an industrial dryer?

TR CU 010/2011, On Safety of Machinery and Equipment, is a central regulation for machinery within its scope in Russia and the EAEU. Applicability and whether a certificate or declaration is required must be checked for the exact machine, product classification and conformity-assessment scheme.

Is EAC marking the same as CE marking for the Russian market?

No. The EAC mark signifies compliance with applicable EAEU technical regulations and completion of the required conformity-assessment procedures. CE marking alone is not a substitute for EAC conformity. The mark is applied only when the relevant EAEU rules permit it.

Which low-voltage and EMC regulations may apply to dryer electrical equipment?

TR CU 004/2011 covers low-voltage electrical equipment within its scope; TR CU 020/2011 covers electromagnetic compatibility of technical means. Their applicability to panels, drives, motors, controls and the complete assembly must be checked, including relevant exclusions and voltage thresholds.

What if the dryer handles combustible dust or solvent vapours?

If equipment is intended for potentially explosive atmospheres, TR CU 012/2011 can apply to equipment and protective systems. A project-specific explosion-risk review should cover dust or vapour characteristics, zoning, ignition sources, suitable equipment and operating safeguards.

Which regulation applies to steam coils and other pressure equipment?

TR CU 032/2013 governs certain equipment operating under excess pressure. Whether a steam coil, vessel, piping or assembly falls within scope and which conformity route applies depends on pressure, temperature, fluid, size, volume and defined exclusions; the 0.05 MPa threshold is among the scope criteria.

What Russian-language technical documentation may be required?

Depending on applicable TR CU regulations, the conformity package may include a technical description, drawings, test evidence, operating manual or passport, safety justification and a certificate or declaration. Identification, operating instructions and required safety information should be prepared in Russian as required by the applicable regulation and scheme.

Who can act as the EAC applicant for an imported dryer?

The eligible applicant and any authorised representative arrangements must satisfy the rules of the applicable EAEU technical regulation and conformity-assessment scheme. An EAEU-established importer or authorised representative may be needed. This is confirmed before the certification or declaration process.

Which Russian industrial-safety rules matter for hazardous sites?

Federal Law No. 116-FZ on industrial safety of hazardous production facilities may apply at qualifying sites. Installation, operation, technical devices, inspections and regulatory interaction are site-specific and should be reviewed with the facility operator and the appropriate local specialists.

How are food-contact surfaces and hygiene considered for Russian food plants?

Food-product safety is addressed by TR CU 021/2011; food-contact materials can also be subject to the EAEU common sanitary requirements under Customs Union Commission Decision No. 299, section 16, as applicable. The dryer’s contact materials, cleanability, seals and contamination controls must match the particular food application.

Are emissions and waste-handling requirements relevant to dryer projects?

Potentially yes. Federal Laws No. 7-FZ on environmental protection, No. 96-FZ on atmospheric air protection and No. 89-FZ on production and consumption waste can affect air emissions, exhaust treatment, dust collection, residues and permitting. Specific obligations depend on the site and operating permit.

Are GOST and GOST R standards automatically mandatory for every dryer?

No. Applicable mandatory requirements arise from technical regulations and other binding rules. Relevant interstate GOST or national GOST R standards may support a conformity assessment; some are used voluntarily, while a particular standard may become mandatory through legislation, a contract or technical specifications. Confirm the applicable current list for the product.

Do all industrial dryers require EAC certificates?

Not necessarily. Depending on product classification and the technical regulation, the conformity form may be certification or declaration. Equipment outside the relevant regulation’s scope may follow different rules. Do not assume that one certificate covers all components and plant-level obligations.

Can GEM Drytech plan EAEU-compatible components, controls and spare parts?

Project specifications can identify suitable motors, VFDs, PLC/HMI, safety devices, steam coils, conveyors, trays and spare parts, together with applicable conformity evidence. Certification or approval is not claimed until the required assessment and documentation are completed.

Can Russia-bound equipment be quoted and delivered without further checks?

No. Besides technical suitability and EAEU conformity, the commercial team must separately verify current export controls, sanctions, import restrictions, logistics, insurance, payments and the lawful end use before confirming a transaction or shipment.

What technical data should we provide for a Russian drying project?

Please share material name and composition, feed rate, inlet and target moisture, operating hours, temperature limits, fuel or heat source, electricity, site location, dust/solvent hazards and intended use of the dried material.

Which heat sources can be considered?

Depending on material suitability and operating conditions, dryers may be designed around steam, thermal oil, electricity, hot air, indirect heat, flue gas or suitable waste-heat integration. Final selection depends on product sensitivity, emissions and plant utilities.
